TRR

For TRR, specialists in transition and competence support for white-collar workers in the private sector, trend and external environment monitoring is absolutely central. Every employee is expected to sharpen their own sense for trends and industry signals. To inspire and encourage greater focus on future-oriented issues, TRR turned to Junglemap and NanoLearning.– We wanted to find an inspiring and playful way to enhance our external monitoring, says Åsa Thambert, trend analyst at the transition organization TRR.

Spread the word

With Junglemap’s standard course in Information Security already in use, employees were familiar with the NanoLearning format of short 3-minute lessons. At the same time, it was important that the new initiative—focused on trend-based inspiration—was firmly anchored in leadership.
– We informed both leadership and managers about the initiative’s purpose, and our CEO wrote about it in their blog. We also posted regular updates about the program on our intranet, explains Åsa Thambert.

Editorial Collaboration with Junglemap

Trends that impact today’s and tomorrow’s working life are many—and often well-known. The challenge of this initiative was to capture strategic themes while also finding new, slightly unexpected angles.

Together with Junglemap, TRR created an editorial council with representatives from different departments. This allowed them to identify the questions and ideas “bubbling” within the organization. One key goal was to ensure that trend topics made it onto the agenda and into discussions at various work meetings.
– We wanted to create a kind of positive “FoMO”—a need among employees to stay updated and alert to developments that might affect TRR’s work, says Åsa Thambert.

High Engagement

NanoLessons were sent out every third week. Each lesson included reflection questions and space for comments on the topic.
– Engagement was high. The NanoLearning lessons really became a talking point. And things like that affect the entire organization’s focus on the issue, Åsa Thambert explains.

Eight out of ten employees completed the course. Each lesson generated an average of about 50 comments. After each session, a short summary with highlights was posted on the intranet and used as discussion material in TRR’s workgroups.

The entire initiative was measured and evaluated based on TRR’s goals for impact in awareness, relevance, trend analysis, and external focus—before, during, and after the rollout. The results showed a particularly positive effect on understanding how trends influence the organization itself. Awareness of the importance of bringing external issues into day-to-day conversations also increased. Participants also rated the lesson content very highly.
– We achieved our goal: to create external monitoring in a playful and inspiring format. A lot is happening in the job market—and who knows, a similar initiative may be on the horizon again, concludes Åsa Thambert.
