Gunnebo
With 3,500 employees in 24 countries and customers across more than 100 markets worldwide, delivering cybersecurity training may seem like an overwhelming challenge. But Gunnebo has made significant strides in the right direction.
– We know that we reach over 90% of all our employees and that 100% also complete our training. And we know why we’re able to do that, says Christoffer Holmgren, IT Security Manager at Gunnebo.

The key is Gunnebo’s ongoing investment in awareness through NanoLearning from Junglemap. With recurring 3-minute lessons in information and cybersecurity, combined with phishing simulations, Gunnebo is able to fight the forgetting curve and increase employee awareness.
– Junglemap’s tool is a perfect fit for executing our strategies, says Christoffer Holmgren. A simple and cost-effective platform that allows us to increase the frequency of training and testing to achieve the repetition we’re aiming for.
Cyberattacks continue to increase in volume and sophistication. That means training methods and phishing simulations must constantly evolve to stay relevant. Holmgren values how easy Junglemap’s platform is to update and tailor.
– We clearly see that our employees’ ability to detect phishing emails improves when we increase the difficulty of the simulations, says Christoffer Holmgren. And we must keep doing that, because the attacks are getting harder to identify.
Increased Frequency Drives Results
Previously, the company ran just a few phishing tests per year. Now they conduct at least one every month. The same goes for training frequency—once only a few times per year, now employees receive short lessons directly via email every third week. This huge increase in frequency is having a real impact on the company’s cybersecurity culture.
– We’ve noticed people discussing cybersecurity around the coffee table on the days the lessons go out, says Christoffer Holmgren. And that’s exactly what we need to build a security culture that runs throughout the entire organization.
Training Needs to Happen Year-Round
During Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October, attention around security spikes—especially in the media. Holmgren views that as a positive boost to the overall effort, but emphasizes that real change comes from consistent training throughout the year.
– We want to continuously raise awareness and combat the forgetting curve through repetition, he says. A campaign month can kick-start important conversations, but it won’t create the sustained awareness we need.
Managers Play a Key Role
Gunnebo has a solid reporting system that allows managers and team leads to track whether employees are completing their training. Local leadership is vital to creating and sustaining a healthy security culture.
– What I say may matter at our headquarters in Gothenburg, says Christoffer Holmgren. But at one of our facilities in another country, someone else needs to take responsibility for communicating and following up.
